These adorable pups boast an array of features that set them apart. Let’s take a look at 8 unique (and totally cute) French Bulldog Facts!

1. NOT A GOOD SWIMMER

It’s true. Frenchies are famous for their unique bulbous heads and stature, meaning swimming is basically impossible for their little bodies. They would much prefer to sit on the sidelines, sunglasses on and bikini out. 


2. THEY LOVE CHIT-CHAT

While most darks bark, French Bulldogs hate to conform to the stereotype. They enjoy conversing with their owners much more, using various tricks to make it seem as though they’re actually speaking. 

3. THEY HATE BEING IN TROUBLE

French bulldogs are highly sensitive souls, and no matter how constructive your criticism is, their unlikely to take it very well. Their easily wounded, so unless you want the cold shoulder, it’s better to embrace positive reinforcement.

4. THEY ARE THE ULTIMATE PAL  Seriously – we’re not just bias. They were initially bred to be companions, and there’s nothing that makes them happier than good company. Whether it be a fellow dog or human compatriot, quality time is at the top of their priority list.

5. THEY’RE ALL EARS – IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

French Bulldogs come in two styles – one with rose shaped ears and one with bat shaped ears. Both are lovely in their own way, and different ears don’t come with a difference in character!

 

6. THEY HAVE ROYAL BLOOD

We just KNEW there was something extra special about them. Many have struggled to source their exact origins, but most have found their roots to trace back to England.

 

7. THEY DON’T DO FLYING

Some dogs like driving in the car – not the Frenchie. Unfortunately, their squished-up faces make it hard for them to breathe when exposed to fast movement, and most airlines have even banned their presence on aircrafts.
